PTO Meeting Minutes
November 13, 2007

Follow up: Birthday Treasure Box placed in the office filled with school store items for students to choose from for their birthday.

Fundraiser Update: Reader’s Digest Catalog sales did well. We sold $12,500 worth of items. Items will arrive the first week of December. No exact total on how much we earned from the sales yet.

Movie Night: Our 2nd annual family movie night will be this Thursday November 15th. We are asking for food donations for the Marion Pantry. Popcorn will be served with juice boxes for kids and pop for adults. Doors open at 5:45pm

Game Night at Barnes & Noble: Tuesday November 27th from 5:30-7:30pm Think Fun Games will be set up at Barnes and Noble along with a quick craft and a coloring page. The Wilkins Chorus will perform at 6:15 for 20-25 minutes. Wilkins school will receive 15% of the purchases made on the 27th. You need to either bring the flyer that will be coming home in the Red Folder or mention Wilkins at the cash register. No purchase is needed to attend the activities that evening.

Bazaar: Saturday December 1st is the 2nd annual Bazaar. We have 20 spaces sold with 10 more available. Contact Cindi Wibben for a slot.

Skate Night: The first Wilkins Skate Night will be Sunday December 2nd from 5-7pm. Cost is $5. Door prizes will be Webkins. More info going home in Red Folders.

Playground Committee Update: The excavating has begun on our new playground. Weather permitting the new playground could be completed upon return of Thanksgiving break. Help is still needed to assemble a few items and to spread mulch. Ribbon cutting ceremony in the works. Stay tuned for further emails.

Please consider the Scrip program if you are giving gift cards this holiday season. Scrip will be ordered weekly throughout the holiday season and gift cards are available.

Giving Tree: Upon return from Thanksgiving break, there will be a tree set up outside the office with ornaments requesting donations of gifts for Wilkins Families. Please consider this in your holiday purchases.

Vote was taken for PTO to donate$100 towards the Giving Tree program.

Our next PTO meeting will be January 9th at 6:30pm. Location to be determined.
