The SODA program at
Linn-Mar High School is one of the most active programs in the
school. The goal of SODA is to encourage and promote a safe, healthy
drug and alcohol free lifestyle for the Linn-Mar student population.
This goal is met through student-facilitated activities and
meetings, drug and alcohol free social events, being role models for
others, providing a support network and encouraging others to make
healthy choices.
SODA was developed at
Linn-Mar in 1991 and included 30 members its first year. SODA has
grown to 457 members during the 2006-2007 school year. The members
sign a pledge to be drug and alcohol free and follow the by-laws at
the beginning of each school year.
