Nutritious breakfasts and lunches are available at each school.  Today’s meals give students more variety and choice than ever before.  Even at the elementary level, students learn consumer and health skills by making food choices.  For example, breakfast provides several grain choices and we offer a main entrée and an alternate each day for lunch.

School meals must meet the Dietary Guidelines for Americans, which recommend including no more than 30% of calories from fat and lowering sodium intake.  School breakfast provides ¼ of the recommended dietary allowances (RDA); school lunch provides 1/3 of the RDA.

The district uses SDS, an internet-based system to provide families with up-to-the-minute information regarding student meal accounts.  Student account history for purchases and deposits is easily accessible.  Additionally, the program provides e-mail notification when meal account balances are low.  For Frequently Asked Questions regarding SDS click here or contact Ruth Noth, SDS Manager.
