 The Community Services Office is a liaison between the school and the community, interfacing with the public in three areas:  the volunteer program, community education and the scheduling of facilities. 

Volunteer Program

The volunteer program coordinated 20,000 hours in Linn-Mar schools during the 2006-2007 school year.  Close to 1,000 volunteers were involved in Linn-Mar classrooms, with 396 volunteers working weekly supporting our students and staff.

Parent Advisory
The Superintendent's Parent Advisory is an opportunity for Dr. Katie Mulholland, superintendent, to share information and take questions from Linn-Mar parents.  The advisory sessions will be held in the Educational Services Center, 3333 North Tenth Street, Marion.

Lunch & Learn
Lunch & Learn is an opportunity for parents with a flexible lunch schedule to visit with Dr. Mulholland.  Bring your own lunch to these informal learning sessions.

Facilities

Community use of Linn-Mar’s facilities is coordinated by the Community Services Office.  Requests must be made at least two weeks in advance and in writing using the request form available below.

Requests for the 2007-2008 school year will be processed beginning August 1, 2007.

Community Education
The Linn-Mar Community Education program is a joint project between the district and Kirkwood Community College Continuing Education.  The district supports our lifelong learners with more than 200 classes offered on the Linn-Mar campus every school year.
